Pamela Phillips began her legal career as a federal prosecutor, working as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, Penn. In 1979, she moved into private practice in San Francisco, California, where she spent the rest of her career. She handled complex litigation and specialized in representing lawyers and law firms throughout California. She retired from Arnold & Porter LLP at the end of 2016, where she had been the Chair of the law firm’s Attorney Liability Practice Group. Throughout her career,Pam’s peers consistently rated her at the top of her field. For example, she was ranked as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in California” and repeatedly honored as a “Super Lawyer” in Northern California, where she practiced. She frequently lectured across the United States on topics of legal ethics and malpractice, and also testified in court as an expert witness in her field. She enjoyed mentoring young lawyers she worked with, and continues mentoring young women today.
