BETSEY COLEMAN
EDUCATOR
Betsey Coleman teaches Language Arts and is the Coordinator of the Curious Theatre Playwriting Institute at Colorado Academy in Denver where she is also Master Teacher. She has a BA from Pitzer College and an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan. Betsey has been awarded scholarships from the English Speaking Union, the National Endowment for the Humanities, Facing History and Ourselves, and the Fulbright Program. She has received the Vinnik Fellowship for Advanced Study in Israel from The University of Denver. Recently, Betsey was awarded a fellowship from Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce TEACH Initiative to travel to Qatar, Bahrain, and UAE on a cultural and educational exchange.

As a Fulbright grantee for the Distinguished Award in Teaching, Betsey studied at Hebrew University and completed an action research project: “Teaching Palestinian and Israeli Identity through the Arts” in Israel and Palestine. This work is featured on a number of university outreach sites and most recently on the MEPC (Middle East Policy Council’s) outreach digital ebook. Betsey serves on the board of the Middle East Outreach Council.
